Esthetic Surgery, Otoplasty

Otoplasty in Turkey

In an effort to hide the not too elegant shape of the ears, women most often follow the path of disguise: an elongated square, hats and caps … Well, the solution is obvious, but far from ideal, unlike otoplasty in Istanbul, which allows you to say goodbye once and for all to an annoying flaw.

A simple plastic surgery called “otoplasty” can be recommended even to the smallest patients. And many parents decide on plastic surgery of the ears so that the child does not have problems with peers who are prone to ridiculing physical shortcomings. Almost one hundred percent success indicates how seriously aesthetic medicine has advanced in this direction.

There are several methods of ear plasty, but they all boil down to the fact that under local anesthesia, a small incision is made on the back of the auricle, through which excess cartilage tissue is removed. Then one or more stitches are applied. As a result of plastic surgery, the ear takes the desired position: it fits more tightly to the head. Simple otoplasty is completed by applying a sterile gauze bandage. It can be hidden under an elastic tennis band or hat. Some swelling is possible during the healing period after otoplasty, which usually takes one to two weeks.

A completely different matter is congenital or acquired pathologies, in which the auricles themselves need plastic surgery. This happens, say, with microtia and anotia (underdevelopment and absence) of the ears, damage to them during injuries, as well as with significant differences between the left and right auricles in shape and size. Ears is not a name that can be easily changed, it requires a multi-stage plastic, using the possibilities of reconstructive plastic surgery.

After excision, the doctor places material under the skin, borrowed or grown from a previously taken donor material from the patient. It is currently possible to use high-tech biocompatible scaffolds for auricular plasty . Due to their special porous structure, they are easy to process and successfully integrate into tissues.

Approximately six months after the ear plastic surgery, when the frame takes root, it is finally fixed with sutures, trying to hide them as much as possible in the ear crease. Modern otoplasty allows you to correct almost any natural anomalies and achieve results that are practically indistinguishable from those that are considered standard.
