Dark spots on the skin

Brown spots that form on the face do not give it beauty. This is a fairly common phenomenon, which can be congenital, acquired or age-related. When melanin pigment accumulates in places in human skin, we are talking about hyperpigmentation. It can be freckles, or pathology, but, in any case, it is not beautiful from an aesthetic point of view.

How to get rid of age spots, we will tell in this article.

The causes of hyperpigmentation are:

  • excessive sunbathing;
  • hormonal disbalance;
  • diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • consequences of skin diseases;
  • taking medications.

There are many ways to combat hyperpigmentation, ranging from cosmetic procedures that can significantly lighten spots, and ending with daily care using brightening agents.

The composition of care products should include the most important components:

  • retinol, which reduces melanin production, brightens the skin, exfoliates and provides antioxidant protection;
  • Hydroquinone is a bleaching agent.

To prevent the appearance of age spots, sunscreen is the best way. It should be applied from spring to autumn.

One of the most effective methods for eliminating age spots in cosmetology is peeling, carried out by chemical and hardware methods.

Chemical peel

Chemical peeling is carried out with acids. Depending on the depth at which the pigment was formed, it is applied:

  • superficial peeling that affects the layer of horny scales. It is carried out with the help of acids, the concentration of which is very small. These include: glycolic, lactic, mandelic, retinoic, malic, tartaric acid. Such peeling is carried out in the case when hyperpigmentation has formed after acne and post-acne. As a result, the complexion is evened out, and as an additional bonus, the activity of acne formation decreases. The rehabilitation period is short, the redness disappears after a few hours.
  • median – affecting the epidermis. In this case, more concentrated acids are used and this peeling is done in the autumn-winter period, when there is no solar activity. It’s more efficient. It will take several days to recover.
  • deep – affecting the dermis. This method is a complete operation and is performed under general anesthesia. After the operation, the patient spends some time in the clinic under the supervision of a doctor. It is prescribed in the event that superficial and median peels have been ineffective. Has an anti-aging effect.

Laser peeling

The thermal radiation of the laser affects the skin and speeds up the metabolism in the cell. As a result, cells intensively begin to produce collagen, evening out the color and texture of the skin, thereby solving the problem of not only pigmentation caused by hormonal changes, but also age-related changes.
