How to do a chest lift

A plastic surgeon conducts an hour-long consultation and listens to the wishes of the patient.

The doctor tells how the operation will take place, how to prepare for it, and what the rehabilitation period will be like.At the consultation, the girl talks about chronic diseases, medications taken, and possible allergic reactions.

The patient must be consulted by an anesthesiologist. Sevoran gas anesthesia is used, so that after surgery patients do not feel the unpleasant consequences of anesthesia, such as distraction, headache or visual impairment.

After the consultation, it is necessary to pass tests for blood clotting, tests for HIV and hepatitis, undergo fluorography and ECG. The Scandinavia multidisciplinary clinic (SB Esthetic Surgery) has its own laboratory – all tests can be taken at once in one building. If necessary, the surgeon refers to the gynecologist and endocrinologist.

How is the operation performed?

During a breast lift or reduction, a plastic surgeon removes the stretched skin, gives the breast the correct shape, moves the nipples and areolas to a new place, and fixes the breasts to the muscles.

The degree of sagging breasts is divided into several levels – the method of operation depends on the amount of sagging skin.In first-degree ptosis, the nipple descends and lies below the level of the inframammary fold. If the breast is small, a crescent-shaped patch of skin above the areola is removed and the nipple is moved upward.Benelli mastopexy removes the skin around the areola

Anchor mastopexy is performed when the nipple is located below the fold on the anterior surface of the breast skin. With pronounced ptosis, the surgeon makes an inverted T incision – from the areola to the breast fold and along the breast fold. With large stretching, the areola of the nipple itself decreases.

The operation takes place under general anesthesia and lasts 2-3 hours.

Breast lift and breastfeeding

A breast lift can be done six months after the end of breastfeeding. The operation does not affect the possibility of lactation. If the patient plans to have children in the future, then mastopexy will have to be done again – during lactation, the breast will again lose its shape.

After a lift or reduction, the breasts may become numb, but only temporarily.

Contraindications for a breast lift

The operation is not performed on patients under 18 years of age, pregnant or lactating women.Breast plastic surgery is prohibited for blood clotting disorders, diabetes mellitus, mental disorders, oncology, infections and endocrine diseases.
