Rhinoplasty in Turkey

Rhinoplasty is an operation to change the shape of the nose. In the clinic “Istanbul” such operations are performed by experienced plastic surgeons, sometimes together with otorhinolaryngologists. Schedule a consultation to learn about the latest in aesthetic medicine and get an idea of the price of a rhinoplasty.

Indications for rhinoplasty

The reason for the operation is usually aesthetic or post-traumatic defects in the shape of the nose: too large or insufficient size, non-standard configuration, curvature. Another popular reason is an abnormally shaped nasal septum. A separate group consists of defects in the tip of the nose – it can be too wide or narrow, as well as hanging over the upper lip, like a “parrot’s beak”, nasolabial fold. Aesthetic imperfections are often combined with functional problems: respiratory failure, snoring. Rhinoplasty helps to correct birth defects and eliminate the consequences of injuries.

Rhinoplasty according to your wishes

Before prescribing an operation, the doctor and the patient discuss which defects need to be corrected. Sometimes a computer program that simulates changes in a three-dimensional image of the patient’s face helps to present the result. But it is important to understand that the computer model and the real result of rhinoplasty are not completely the same. Sometimes the complete elimination of defects in the shape of the nose is unacceptable – for example, when it will lead to difficulty breathing.

Who should not have rhinoplasty

An absolute contraindication for surgery is the age of up to 18 years. During this period, bone and cartilage continue to form, so surgery is only permissible as a last resort. Also, doctors are reluctant to perform surgery on patients older than 50 years. A few more restrictions for rhinoplasty:

  • acute and chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract;
  • heart diseases;
  • inflammatory processes in the area of the operation;
  • mental disorders.

Another reason why a good doctor refuses to perform rhinoplasty on a patient is the lack of mutual understanding at the stage of discussing the results. If the patient insists on changes that may harm him, does not respond to the arguments of the specialist and refuses to compromise, he will be advised to go to another clinic.
